The impressive art collection showcases an eclectic mix of established and emerging artists and includes art and artefacts from Africa, Europe and the East. The Saxon believes in supporting South Africa’s most promising emerging artists and takes pride in displaying the work of our established artists who have gained recognition on the local and international art scene. The art collection of the original home includes exceptional pieces that tell a story of a life lived with friends. In recent years over 200 original artworks were sourced from various South African artists, representing the largest single corporate art acquisition made in South Africa for interior design purposes, bringing the walls to life and reflecting a vibrant connection with Africa

Artyli Gallery has a comprehensive and diverse program run over three exhibition spaces. The gallery represents South African and African artists alongside international artists.

Goodman Gallery is a pioneering contemporary art space showcasing globally acclaimed artists and powerful works that spark dialogue, reflection, and cultural exchange.

Everard Read, Africa’s oldest commercial art gallery, was established in Johannesburg and celebrated its centenary in 2013, with a long-standing association with leading Southern African artists. Select artworks from the gallery can also be discovered throughout the gardens of the Saxon Hotel, offering guests a unique outdoor art experience.

Stevenson, founded in 2003, is an internationally recognised gallery with a strong focus on Southern Africa, hosting exhibitions across its spaces in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Amsterdam, and representing a diverse roster of influential contemporary artists.

Located in the dynamic heart of Joburg, 223 Creative Hub is a space where artists, enthusiasts, mentors, collectors, creators, explorers, visionaries and artisans converge. Realising the lack of focus on female artists, 223 is one of the only art galleries that celebrate women in the art industry through Berman Contemporary which is a female-led art gallery in Johannesburg that was founded in 2016by Candice Berman.

Home to the largest and most significant holding of African arts in Southern Africa. On display are collections of beadworks, drums, headrests, wooden sculptures, ceremonial and fighting sticks, masks, basketry, wirework, and textiles. There are also paintings, drawings and watercolours by recognised artists such as Irma Stern, Gerard Sekoto, Azaria Mbatha, Willem Boshoff and William Kentridge.

Enjoy a scenic hour-long drive to the Cradle of Humankind and the Nirox Sculpture Park where you can spend the afternoon, located on 20 hectares of landscaped gardens and waterways, the park is committed to excellence in all disciplines of contemporary arts. The Nirox collection comprises artworks left by artists in residence. Within the reserve lie several permanent artworks, some only available for viewing by special appointment. These currently include works by Richard Long, Willem Boshoff, Caroline Bittermann, Valerio Berruti, Rebecca Chesney, Priyanka Choudhary, Rosenclare and Thomas Mulcaire.
