Combining mathematics, mark-making, nature and elements of synesthesia (the term used to describe the sensation of experiencing one of your senses through another, such as ‘seeing’ a sound or ‘hearing’ a colour), the exhibition is an intimate journey through the artistic influences of the two artists.
Working in mixed media, including silkscreens, drawing, collage, print and painting, these abstracts are inspired by the often chaotic and complex nature of South African politics, architecture, history and the movement of people. This exhibition runs until 15th April 2022 and is presented by Studio Nxumalo in association with Aspire Art.
